Abstract: This mandatory, knowledge-based textbook for ninth-grade students was the first Armenian civic education textbook. The textbook explains the concepts of power; democracy; civil society; man and human status in the Republic of Armenia; executive, legislative, and judicial branches of power; regional government and local self-administration; and foreign policy. The book promotes students' development of knowledge and comprehension of civic ideas.
